چکیده

Abstract Late watergrass [ Echinochloa phyllopogon (Stapf) Koss.] has evolved multiple-resistance (MR) to herbicides in many areas worldwide and scientists wonder if this resistance imposed fitness cost or advantage on the resistant biotypes. As of weed also been recorded Greece, one susceptible (S), with ALS (penoxsulam, bispyribac, imazamox nicosulfuron + rimsulfuron) ACCase-cyhalofop (MRAC) two synthetic auxin-quinclorac (MRAQ1, MRAQ2) late biotypes collected from rice fields (northern Greece) were studied for their growth rate competitive ability (regarding stem number fresh weight) absence presence rice. Also, competition indices relative yield (RY), ratio (CR) aggressiveness (AI) evaluated. The S three MR grown (one plant/pot) showed different shoot but similar weight rates. In contrast, under intra-specific (one, two, four six plants/pot), biotype produced that MRAQ1 lower than MRAC MRAQ2 However, inter-specific plants watergrass/pot more other at all densities, reduction not followed opposite trend (based both intra- completion data) found most cases biotype. These findings strongly suggest there is no clear association between herbicide resistance.

Differential oxidative metabolism and 5-ketoclomazone accumulation are involved in Echinochloa phyllopogon resistance to clomazone.

Echinochloa phyllopogon (late watergrass) is a major weed of California rice (Oryza sativa) that has evolved cytochrome P450-mediated metabolic resistance to different herbicides with multiple modes of action. E. phyllopogon populations from Sacramento Valley rice fields have also recently shown resistance to the herbicide clomazone. Clomazone is a proherbicide that must be metabolized to 5-ket...

Assessment of Iranian Apricot Cultivars Resistant, Susceptible and Mutant to Late Spring Frost

Apricot is grown in a wide range of climatic conditions in Iran, however, it is frequently damaged by late spring frost. In this case, identification of new genotypes tolerant to cold stress is indispensably needed. The objective of this study was to evaluate the genetic population and relationships among 27 apricot accessions (Prunus armeniaca) by 30 microsatellite markers and 11 morp...

ldentification and Gene Expression of Anaerobically lnduced Enolase in Echinochloa phyllopogon and Echinochloa crus-pa vonis'

Enolase (2-phospho-o-glycerate hydrolase, EC 4.2.1.1 1 ) has been identified as an anaerobic stress protein in Echinochloa oryzoides based on the homology of i ts interna1 amino acid sequence with those of enolases from other organisms, by immunological reactivity, and induction of catalytic activity during anaerobic stress. Enolase activity was induced 5-fold in anoxically treated seedlings of...

competitive effects of barnyardgrass (echinochloa crusgalli (l.) beauv) and early watergrass (echinochloa oryzoides (ard) fisher) on yield, yield components and growth indices of rice (oryza sativa l.)

barnyardgrass has always been considered as the most important weed of rice all over the world. meanwhile, establishment of new species of this genus which is more adaptable to paddy ecosystem will increase the importance of this genus as a new threat to rice. in order to evaluate the competition of two species of barnyardgrass with rice, an experiment was conducted at rice research institute o...

Quinclorac Absorption and Translocation Characteristics in Quinclorac- and Propanil-Resistant and -Susceptible Barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli ) Biotypes

Studies were initiated to evaluate absorption, translocation, and distribution of C-quinclorac in propaniland quinclorac-resistant (R-BYG) and -susceptible (S-BYG) barnyardgrass. No differential absorption of C-quinclorac was observed between R-BYG and S-BYG, but more C remained in the treated leaf of S-BYG (57% of total absorbed) compared with the R-BYG leaf (34% of total absorbed) at 72 h aft...
